The festivals of Swaminarayan Jayanti and Rama Navmi were celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion on Wednesday 24 March 2010 at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London in the presence of senior sadhu Pujya Doctor Swami. The traditional annakut – a grand variety of food to mark this auspicious occasion – was offered to the deities, and at 12 noon, the sadhus performed a special arti to commemorate the birth of Shri Ramchandraji.

Organ Donation Roadshow

The Hindu Organ Donation Faith Roadshow was held at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir – popularly known as the Neasden Temple – on Saturday 13 March 2010 with the help of BAPS Charities. The roadshow was organised by the NHS Blood and Transplant unit (NHSBT) as part of a nationwide campaign aimed at raising awareness about the lack of people on the national Organ Donor Register and encouraging them to sign up.

15 to 21 November 2009

The Week was facilitated by The Inter Faith Network for the UK (IFN-UK) and the government’s Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) in consultation with the Equality and Human Rights Commission, among other agencies. It was mainly community-led with local faith communities and non-faith groups seeking to reach out to each other and build strong bonds of understanding and cooperation. A host of events including seminars, forums, workshops, and sports and entertainment programmes had been organised to bring together diverse groups of people both locally and nationally.
